Client retention has always been the backbone of a successful practice.
Prepare your mature clients for what they are facing down the road, so they can meet all their needs with forethought and planning. This advance planning insures an excellent transition for their next step in life.
The danger is that many of your clients, who believe they are ready, are not prepared to handle these significant life transitions as their profile exists today.
Without you making them aware of these issues, they are driving down a road with their eyes closed. As you keep in touch with your clients, consider those that could benefit from a consultation.
• Financing around retirement
• Downsizing or moving out of state
• Selling & buying simultaneously
• Investment Properties & Second Homes
1) Are they liquid enough to buy a new home without selling their current home?
2) Do they have all of the following: Health Proxy / Living Will / Last Will & Testament?
3) Have they signed a Durable Power of Attorney?
4) Is there a written succession plan for their business?
If the answer is NO to any of these questions, they need a consultation about their future.
Many of your successful clients are asked to help their children, siblings, and parents for financial assistance. Your clients should have access to resources to assist their family members, to improve their financial profiles and reduce the obligation put on your client.
Offering value-added services to your client provides an excellent customer experience, especially when it is at no cost to them.
If you don’t have good resources to discuss these type of events, reach out to me. I will provide the value-added services to your clients, at no cost to you!
Tip of the Week: Leadership Skills
Whether we use them in business or in our private lives, these leadership skills help you to become a better boss, parent, child, or friend. Show patience and be a good listener. Many people just want to feel they were heard. When you hear what those close to you say, because you listened carefully, people feel better.
They feel valued because they were heard.
They feel nurtured and cared for when you display patience and show empathy.
Touch people, both emotionally and physically!
Most everyone responds positively to a warm, kind, gentle touch.
Please be aware of the sensitivity some people may have to personal contact. Make those around you feel cared for and you will feel better about yourself as well!
Quote of the Week:
"Good business leaders create a vision, articulate the vision, passionately own the vision, and relentlessly drive it to completion."
